VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown is a weekly television show on the VH1 cable television network in the United States. The long-running series began in 1994 as the VH1 Top 10 Countdown, as part of VH1's "Music First" rebranding effort. Since then, the series has been a consistent weekly institution on VH1, and it is now the main source of music video programming on the channel.
Over the years, a variety of hosts have counted down the top ten or twenty music videos of the week. The show is currently hosted by Jim Shearer. The order of countdown was originally decided by a mix of record sales, radio airplay, video spins, message board posts, and conventional mail, but since 2006, supposedly online votes have directly influenced the countdown.
Currently, Top 20 Video Countdown airs new episodes on Saturdays at 9 a.m. with encore presentations every Sunday at 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m eastern time.

The 2006 and 2007 shows featured four inductees each, whereas the 2008 show featured one, albeit with multiple bands paying tribute. The shows were directed by David Mallet and produced by Paul Flattery. Currently, VH1 has no plans for a CD or DVD release of any show.

In 1998, VH1 debuted the first annual VH1 Divas concert. VH1 Divas Live was created to support the channel's Save The Music Foundation and subsequent concerts in the series have also benefited that foundation. The VH1 Divas concerts aired annually from 1998 to 2004. After a five year hiatus, the series returned in 2009 with a younger-skewed revamp. In 2010 the concert saluted the troops and in 2011 it celebrated soul music, doubling the previous year's ratings. The latest edition, which aired live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on December 16th 2012, celebrated dance music and paid tribute to Whitney Houston and Donna Summer.

Earlier this month Adele stopped by a studio in Harlem to perform a six-song set for VH1 Unplugged. We have the song known as “The Contradictions Track,” which is “(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman,” in advance of the show’s online premiere March 3. It may seem like a dangerous move for any singer to cover Aretha Franklin. Is there a more surefire way to feel inadequate? But Adele smartly introduced the song by saying she wouldn’t attempt to reinterpret it. While we agree with her sentiment (and respect for Aretha), turns out no disclaimer was needed. Listening up-close to Adele’s mellow but true rendition, which required only minimal guitar and keys, it seemed to us there is no one Adele can’t cover with her powerful, nuanced singing.
ZZ Top might seem like something of a challenge for the VH1 "Storytellers" series because while this Texas blues-rock band has a secure spot in music history, its three members don't have a reputation for being all that chatty. Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill - the two bearded guys out front - are droll and funny. So is drummer Frank Beard, the one without a beard. But they've mostly let their music talk over the 40 years they've been playing together. This show comes across more as a ZZ Top greatest-hits concert, which certainly won't disappoint ZZ Top fans. Few bands have been as consistent in their sound over the years, and there's no let down in this performance. Originally aired: 27 June 2009. Set List: 1. Just Got Paid; 2. La Grange; 3. Jesus Just Left Chicago; Gimme All Your Lovin'; 5. Tush; 6. Sharp Dressed Man
Live VH1 Unplugged, 03 March 2008. Set List: 1. Sting Me; 2. Goodbye Daughter of the Revolution; 3. Soul Singer; 4. Locust Street; 5. Walk Believer Walk; 6. Wiser Time
